The governor of Monastir underlined that the periodic meeting of the regional committee for the prevention and response to disasters and the organization of relief is being held today to monitor the epidemiological situation and assess the results of a week of decisions announced to limit the spread of Corona virus infection, as well as follow-up to the regional campaign for vaccination and oxygen supply operations.
The governor of the region once again thanked the executives, agents and all workers in the health sector, representatives of the local authority, security interests, representatives of organizations, civil society and men of 'business for joining forces to protect people infected with the Corona virus and for the success of the regional vaccination campaign.
Dr Youssef El-Badawy, representative of the regional health administration in Monastir, made a presentation on the epidemiological situation in the region during the past period, stressing that the region recorded an average of 807 active cases for 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days. .
Al-Badawi added that the number of residents in public and private hospitals in the region has reached 310 in the past few days and the death toll has reached 12 deaths in one day.
Al-Badawi also presented some indicators of the epidemiological situation in the region, the most important of which are perhaps:

670 deaths, or 111.4 cases per 100,000 inhabitants
268 hospital residents on 288 beds, i.e. an occupancy rate of 93.1%

- 47,992 vaccinated the second case, representing 7.98% of the state's population
Members of the regional scientific committee also stressed the need to continue working with the same procedures and decisions announced previously to limit the spread of Corona virus infection, and to wait for the epidemiological assessment session at the end of this month.
Members of the regional committee for disaster prevention and response and relief organization called for continuing the same previous procedures and decisions while expanding the vaccination process to as many affected citizens as possible, as well as by renewing the call to open the regional vaccination center in coastal areas and prioritizing the vaccination of sanitation workers in municipalities and volunteers in regional vaccination centers to protect them from infection with the virus Corona.
