Regional education delegate Mongi Selim gave a presentation on the latest regional preparations for the start of the school year, noting that the Ministry of Education has decided to abandon the regimental system in education and set a regional rate of 27 students per class and continues to adopt health protocols in various educational institutions in the region to limit the spread of infection. In addition, coordination was made with technical interests to give top priority to expansions, living spaces and maintaining scheduled health groups to be ready before the return date. He added that the number of projects programmed for the year 2021 and previous years for the development of infrastructure of educational institutions is 140 projects, of which 23 have completed works, 23 projects are in the process of completion, 31 projects are underway. tendering process and 63 projects are under consideration.
The regional education delegate explained that one of the most important infrastructure problems and concerns is the high number of dilapidated and obsolete institutions in exchange for a lack and lack of sufficient funds to meet the needs. needs of the region, noting that many health vehicles in some facilities in the region require urgent intervention to maintain and prepare them before the return to school date.
Regarding the shortage in the human context, the regional education delegate indicated that there was a shortage in primary schools with 57 workers, 457 teachers and 323 substitute teachers, and a shortage in colleges and institutes with 181 workers , 175 values. and 33 practical guides.
